Armed Robbery Investigation

On 09-25-17 around 7:30 pm, officers with the City of Carbondale Police Department responded to an armed robbery that had just occurred at Walgreens, 206 South Wall Street. The victim reported that a black male entered the business, displayed a firearm, and demanded money from the register. No money was taken, but the suspect took merchandise instead. The suspect is described as a black male approximately 30 years of age, approximately 5’8” tall, wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, black pants, and a purple bandana covering his face. The suspect left the business eastbound on a bicycle. The investigation into this incident continues.

On 09-25-17 at around 1930 hours Carbondale Officers were dispatched to an armed robbery that occurred at Walgreens East (206 S. Wall Street). The suspect was described as a black male approximately 30 years of age, approximately 5’8” tall, weighing approximately 160 pounds wearing black pants and a blue hoodie. There were no reported injuries. Anyone with information on this incident is encourage to contact the Carbondale Police Department at (618) 451-3200 or Crime Stoppers at (618) 549-COPS (2677).
