Death Investigation Update, Arrest

Jarrell Pullen has been arrested in Jonesboro, Arkansas with the assistance of the United States Marshals and the Craighead County, Arkansas Sheriff's Department in reference to the 03-09-17 death of Javon Trott.  On 04-11-17, the City of Carbondale Police Department was notified by the Craighead County Sheriff’s Department that Pullen had just been arrested in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Pullen was wanted on the outstanding Jackson County Illinois warrant, charging him with first-degree murder. Pullen was incarcerated in the Craighead County Jail and will await extradition proceedings.  Carbondale detectives continue to investigate the death of Javon Trott and are in communication with authorities in Arkansas.

Prior Release

On 03-09-17 at approximately 5:29 p.m., the City of Carbondale Police Department responded to the 400 block of East Willow Street in reference to a shooting.  Officers found one individual with possible life threatening gunshot wounds.  The victim, identified as Javon T Trott (of Johnston City, IL.) was immediately transported to the Memorial Hospital of Carbondale via ambulance.  Trott did not survive the injuries he received from the gunshot wounds.   During the course of the investigation officer sought and received an arrest warrant for Jarrell J. Pullen, 22 year old from Carbondale.  Anyone with information about the incident or the whereabouts of Pullen is encouraged to contact the Police Department at (618) 457-3200 or Crime Stoppers at (618) 549-COPS (2677).
