Aggravated Battery with a Firearm Investigation-Arrest

On 03-31-17 at 6:40 p.m., officers with the City of Carbondale Police Department observed a male subject known to them as James Algee Moore in the 400 block of South Lake Heights Street. Officers knew that Algee Moore was wanted on an outstanding original arrest warrant for Aggravated Battery with a Firearm, following a shooting incident that occurred in the 600 block of North Carico Street on 02-20-16. Algee Moore was arrested without incident and was incarcerated in the Jackson County Jail.

Prior Release:

On 02-20-16 at approximately 9:30 p.m., Officers of the Carbondale Police Department responded to the 600 block of North Carico Street in response to shots fired.  During the course of the investigation, officers located a victim in the area who suffered from non-life threatening gunshot wounds.  Further investigation of the incident revealed that James Algee Moore was involved in the shooting. A warrant for the arrest of Moore has been issued for Aggravated Battery with a Firearm and Unlawful Use of a Weapon. Anyone with information on Moore’s whereabouts should contact the Carbondale Police Department at 618-457-3200 extension 430. The investigation into this incident is continuing.
