Arson Investigation Update

The City of Carbondale Police Department would like to thank the local media outlets and the public with their assistance in identifying the person sought in reference to an arson investigation. The individual pictured in the prior release was quickly identified and is cooperating with the investigation, which is ongoing. Anyone with information about the arson should contact the Carbondale Police Department at 618-457-3200 or Crime Stoppers at 618-549-COPS (2677).

Prior Release: Arson Investigation

On 01-25-17 at 12:20 a.m., officers with the City of Carbondale Police Department and the Carbondale Fire Department responded to the Marion Street Apartments (300 E. Main St.) for a small fire that scorched the exterior wall of the building. The fire was quickly extinguished by the Fire Department and there were no injuries. The suspect is a white male, approximately 35 to 45 years old, medium length hair and is wearing a dark hooded jacket and jeans. Images of the suspect are included with this release. Anyone with information about the arson should contact the Carbondale Police Department at 618-457-3200 or Crime Stoppers at 619-549-COPS (2677).
