Theft of Lost or Mislaid Property Investigation

05-09-14 Web Release- Theft of Lost or Mislaid Property Investigation

On 01-15-14, the City of Carbondale Police Department responded to a business in the 2500 block of West Murphysboro Road in reference to a report of a theft of lost or mislaid property. Officers learned the victim dropped his wallet in the parking lot of the Secretary of State Driver’s License facility.  An eyewitness who was present observed a female suspect pick the wallet up and leave in a Ford Expedition.  Recently,  a suspect was identified in this investigation.  The police department is requesting the witness, or anyone else who may know the witness, to contact the police department at 618-457-3200, extension 441 and speak with Detective Brandon Weisenberger.
