Unlawful Use of a Weapon and Possession of a Controlled Substance Investigation

04-28-14 Web Release –Unlawful Use of Weapon and Possession of a Controlled Substance Investigation

On 04-26-14 at around 12:32 a.m., officers of the City of Carbondale Police Department conducted a traffic stop at the 300 block of East Walnut. During the course of the investigation, officers learned that the driver of the vehicle had a warrant for his arrest.  During the course of the investigation officers also located a loaded handgun and suspected crack cocaine.  The driver, Jeremy C. Clark, and the passenger, Andre Bailey, were arrested and charged with Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession with Intent to Distribute a Controlled Substance.  Clark and Bailey were incarcerated at the Jackson County Jail. The investigation into this incident is continuing.
