Aggravated Battery Investigation
03-18-14 Web Release- Aggravated Battery Investigation
On 03-15-14 at around 1:20 a.m., the City of Carbondale Police Department responded to the 1300 block of East Main Street for a report of a disturbance. During the course of the investigation, a victim was found to have been battered. The victim was taken to Memorial Hospital of Carbondale for serious injuries and later transported to a St. Louis hospital for further treatment. The suspects have since been identified as Richard L. Nelson and Marquis J. Sutton. Warrants were obtained for the arrest of Nelson and Sutton. Nelson and Sutton werelocated on 3-18-14 and arrested. They were charged with Robbery and Aggravated Battery and incarcerated at the Jackson County Jail.
