07-29-13 Web Release –Home Invasion Investigation

On 07-26-13, the City of Carbondale Police Department responded to the 500 block of South Wall Street in reference to a report of a home invasion. Officers learned that at 10:55 p.m. on 07-25-13, a suspect forcibly entered a residence. The suspect, who was known to the victim, battered the victim and another subject before fleeing the residence on foot. The victims sustained minor injuries. The suspect was identified as Kinard P. Portee.  Officers located Portee, and arrested him for Domestic Battery, Battery, Damage to Property, and Home Invasion. Portee was incarcerated at the Jackson County Jail.
