Armed Violence, Aggravated Unlawful Use of Weapon Arrest

On 04-29-13 at 2:25 p.m., officers of the City of Carbondale Police Department were inthe 700 block of North Robert A. Stalls Avenue and observed three males gambling near the street.  As the officers approached the subjects, one of the males fled on foot while armed with a handgun.  The subject was captured after a short foot pursuit and arrested. He was identified as Nickoliest A. Brown and he was charged with Armed Violence, Aggravated Unlawful Use of Weapon, Resisting, Possession and Manufacture Cannabis Investigation.  Brown was transported to the Jackson  County Jail and incarcerated.  The other two suspects were described as black males.  They fled the scene and have not been located.  The investigation into the incident is continuing.
