Crime Stoppers

Carbondale Crime Stoppers is a community program that involves the public, media and the City of Carbondale Police Department in the fight against crime. It provides a unique way for citizens to provide information without having to provide your name, address, or telephone number. Additionally, Carbondale Crime Stoppers pays cash rewards of up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest of the offender.

Carbondale Crime Stoppers maintains an easy number to remember:

(618) 549-COPS
or
(618) 549-2677

It is monitored 24 hours a day, seven days a week, by members of the Carbondale Police Department. When you call with information, you will be given a code number known ONLY to you. When you call back to check on the progress of your case, you need only to identify yourself by your code number. If you information results in the arrest of an offender, you become eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000. Arrangements will be made so that you can receive your reward in cash and protect your identity.

The police are seeking information from the Carbondale and SIUC community about any criminal activity you know about, have credible information about, or activities that seem suspicious. Anyone can call. Tips are not limited to publicized crimes.

Rewards can be paid out to those persons who call the tip line and provide information. Of course, the police are always wanting information on: the whereabouts of persons with outstanding warrants issued for their arrest; the location of suspected drug houses, rooms, or locations (parks, stores, parking areas); suspicious persons driving, walking, or cruising through neighborhoods or parking lots.

So, please, call the Crime Stoppers Tip Line at 549-COPS (2677) or use our Online Crime Stoppers form.

You have nothing to lose and your neighborhood has everything to gain if a criminal is identified and/or removed.
